On November 4, 2023, East Side Learning Center (ESLC) hosted its first ever conference, Creating Super Readers! Science of Reading Education Conference.
Over 50 participants, including educators and literacy mentors, attended the conference and listened to Dr. Chase Young, author of Artfully Teaching the Science of Reading, present an engaging Keynote Address titled, “You are Artists Inspired by Science, and You are Awesome.” Participants also attended breakout sessions on different Science of Reading topics hosted by literacy experts from Minnesota colleges, including the University of St. Thomas, Concordia University St. Paul, and St. Olaf College.
The next Science of Reading conference is scheduled for November 1, 2024.
